Chicago Cubs :The Chicago Cubs are a Major League Baseball team that plays at Wrigley Field in the North Side Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The Cubs are part of the National League. They are one of two clubs in Chicago, the other being the Chicago White Sox of the American League. Both are charter franchises of their respective leagues. The Cubs are affectionately referred to by the media and fans as "The Cubbies" and "The Lovable Losers", the latter due to their almost century-long championship drought. They are also known as "The North Siders" in contrast to the White Sox, who play on the city's South Side. The Cubs are one of the only two remaining charter members left in the National League, along with the Atlanta Braves. Samuel Zell recently acquired the Tribune Company, the current owners of the Cubs. The company will sell the team after the 2007 Major League Baseball season. The Cubs are managed by Lou Piniella. The team's president is John McDonough, and their general manager is Jim Hendry.

Chicago Tours :Chicago is the largest city in the state of Illinois, the largest in the Midwest, and, with a population of three million people, it is the third-most populous city in the United States. The Chicago metropolitan area (colloquially known as Chicagoland) has a population of over 9.4 million in Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana, making it also the third largest metropolitan area in the United States. Chicago is located along the southwestern shore of Lake Michigan and is a major center of transportation, industry, politics, culture, finance, medicine and higher education. Chicago's monikers include the "Windy City," "Chi-Town," "Chi-City," the "Second City," and the "City of the Big Shoulders" (from Carl Sandburg's poem Chicago). Chicago is the financial, business, and cultural capital of the Midwest. Founded in 1833 at the site of a portage between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River System, it soon became a transportation hub of North America. By the Chicago World's Fair of 1893, it was one of the ten most influential world cities, a distinction it continues to hold.During the mid-18th century the Chicago area was inhabited primarily by Potawatomis, who took the place of the Miami and Sauk and Fox people. The first non-native settler in Chicago, Jean Baptiste Pointe du Sable, was Haitian and arrived in the 1770s, married a Potawatomi woman, and founded the area's first trading post. In 1803, the United States Army built Fort Dearborn, which was destroyed in 1812 in the Fort Dearborn Massacre. The Ottawa, Ojibwa, and Potawatomi later ceded the land to the United States in the Treaty of St. Louis of 1816. On August 12, 1833, the Town of Chicago was organized with a population of 350, and within seven years it grew to a population of over 4,000. The City of Chicago was incorporated on March 4, 1837.

Chicago White Sox :The Chicago White Sox are one of the two Major League Baseball teams base in Chicago, Illinois. The other is the Chicago Cubs of the National League. Both are charter members of their respective leagues. The White Sox play in the American League Central Division, and their home park is U.S. Cellular Field. They are familiarly known as simply "The Sox". They are also known as "The Pale Hose" and "The South Siders", as opposed the the North Sider Cubs. "The ChiSox" (pronounced SHY-sox), a combination of "Chicago" and "Sox", is used chiefly by the national media to distinguish them from the Boston Red Sox or "The BoSox". This, however, is used little by fans. The White Sox were a frequent contender during the early 20th century, winning 5 of the first 19 league pennants; but the team's fortunes dropped precipitously in the aftermath of the Black Sox Scandal. After winning only one league championship in the years spanning 1920 to 2004, the team ended decades (and generations) of frustration in 2005 when it won its first World Series Championship since 1917.
